Dammam, Saudi Arabia – August 18, 2025
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has introduced a new intermodal “Door Delivery” service in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant expansion of its logistics portfolio in the Middle East. The initiative reflects the carrier’s broader strategy of offering integrated supply chain solutions while supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a leading logistics hub under Vision 2030.
Comprehensive End-to-End Connectivity
The service will operate from the Port of Dammam, Saudi Arabia’s primary container gateway on the Arabian Gulf, and provide direct inland connections to Neom, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Jubail. ONE confirmed that deliveries will be completed within 24 to 48 hours after customs clearance, depending on the location.
By combining customs clearance with trucking under a single product, ONE aims to provide shippers with a streamlined solution that reduces administrative complexity, eliminates the need for multiple service providers, and enhances supply chain visibility.
Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Logistics Position
Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in transport and logistics infrastructure as part of its Vision 2030 economic diversification strategy. The Kingdom aims to increase container handling capacity, expand its road and rail networks, and strengthen multimodal connectivity between ports and inland destinations.
ONE’s entry into intermodal services supports these objectives by offering shippers more reliable access to major industrial and commercial centres across the country. Market analysts note that this development will be particularly beneficial for industries located inland, including petrochemicals, construction, and consumer goods, which rely on efficient door-to-door delivery systems.
Regional and Global Relevance
The move also comes at a time when global carriers are diversifying beyond traditional ocean freight to provide broader logistics services. Industry observers highlight that ONE’s “Door Delivery” in Saudi Arabia mirrors a wider trend among shipping lines to capture greater value in the supply chain through integrated solutions.
While several carriers continue to focus on expanding port-to-port coverage across the Middle East and South Asia, ONE’s initiative differentiates itself by offering last-mile delivery. This strengthens customer confidence by ensuring continuity of service from vessel discharge to final delivery point.
Expansion Plans
ONE has indicated that the service will be extended to additional destinations across Saudi Arabia as demand develops. The company also suggested that future enhancements could include digital booking and tracking features to further improve visibility for customers.
The carrier emphasised that the initiative demonstrates its long-term commitment to the Saudi market and to supporting its customers with tailored logistics products that match the Kingdom’s evolving trade landscape.
Outlook
Industry stakeholders expect the introduction of the “Door Delivery” service to ease supply chain pressures for importers and exporters in Saudi Arabia, particularly those managing time-sensitive cargo. The initiative is also seen as a positive step towards strengthening Saudi Arabia’s role as a logistics hub for the wider Gulf region.
As the Kingdom continues to liberalise and modernise its logistics sector, services such as ONE’s intermodal network are expected to play a central role in enabling more efficient trade flows and attracting foreign investment into the maritime and logistics industries.
